about

After more than ten years in communications and human resources, Gilles Parmentier became director of Reporters, a photojournalism and video agency, in 2011.

In 2017 he founded Studio Gondo (VO Group) to bring contemporary art and brands together. From 2018 to 2024 he was Managing Fair Director of Art on Paper, where he led the fair’s development, and he created Brussels Drawing Week with more than 30 partner cultural institutions.

Today he leads and contributes to a range of major artistic, creative and event projects.

After twenty years at the head of the design agency V.I.T.R.I.O.L., he co-founded Maison Parisienne in 2008, a travelling gallery devoted to French fine craft, which has staged more than fifty exhibitions across Europe.

In 2016 he advised H.R.H. the Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg on the creation of the De Mains De Maîtres biennial, of which he is now general curator. From 2019 to 2022 he also directed ELEVEN STEENS in Brussels, a space dedicated to art and material, between design, fine craft and fine art.

Now an independent curator, he curates exhibitions of fine craft and contemporary art in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. A former contributor to the Revue de la Céramique et du Verre, he writes regularly for exhibition catalogues and monographs.
